Therapeutic escapes(Cupping) - TCM Week

According to many Traditional Chinese Practitioners, with just acupuncture and cupping, half the ill people trying it can be healed. Starting with cupping they believe that pain is from the blockage of Qi, vital fluids, and blood as well. Chinese cupping is basically a method of freeing up the congestion or blockage to restore the natural flow of energy in your body.In Taoist beliefs, cupping can help balance your yin and yang within your body. With those balanced, it is believed that it will reduce pain and your issues as we have seen in their belief in elements.

Cupping is when you use small cups/jars of glass or bamboo, which are placed on the ski as a suction device in order to release tension and blockages by drawing blood among other toxins to the skin surface. With dry cupping, cups are placed on your skin while wet cupping may include a small incision. Cupping aids in blood circulation as well near the areas it is applied on while muscle tension can be released and also improve cell repairs! You can even apply acupuncture alongside this! With health benefits potentially for issues such as: shingles, paralysis, hernias and more.

Suction is created through a light swabbing of alcohol on the bottom of the cup, lighting it then placing it immediately on your skin. There can also be other methods which use insulators and flames while your skin is protected with other materials. When the suction starts, the cups can be also moved around your body or skin. Oils can also be added to aid with the gliding of your cups. The whole process itself allows muscles to come forward and sooth it. Finally, when finished, the cups are usually left on for a few minutes in order for your body to relax. While bruising might happen, the effects go away relatively quick. With a trained individual there will be ointments to prevent potential infections while some discomfort may be felt regardless. Although cupping is not for everyone it is definitely worth a try and can aid with many problems.
