Red Bean Soup- Aged Mandarin Peel

4.is stereotypical Cantonese dish is heavily loved by Hong Kong, Japanese, and Taiwanese people yet also disliked by many as well. Despite this, the majority still find this enjoyable and eat it commonly after a meal. The texture is how we would describe as raspy, chewy, and somewhat similar to oatmeal. With a sweet and salty taste; it is truly interesting and an acquired taste for many especially in comparison to desserts in Western cultures. In all honesty, for many people it may not seem like a dessert but it truly is worth a try. It can be served with cream too!

The health benefits include those of the Aged Mandarin Peel as well with boosts in Vitamin A, C and many anti-oxidants as well. This can result with better skin, blood flow, and even reduced risks of cancer. While the adzuki, otherwise known as the red bean, holds many health benefits as well, including aiding your digestion. This is due to the high amounts of dietary fibre which also helps with heart health, diabetes risk and also with balancing your sugar levels. With the minerals you can even improve bone health and it doubles up with the aged peel by helping your skin too! Not to mention both also combine to help you lose weight! With so many benefits and such an intriguing taste, we will get straight to it!

Ingredients

-1/2 kg Adzuki(Red Beans)

-2 slices Aged Mandarin/Tangerine Peels -Cream (optional)

Recipe

1.Freeze the red beans first until frozen (you can do this nights before) 2.Bring around 5 L of water to boil then add the red beans and peels all in it

3.Cook on a medium heat for 2-3 hours 4.Serve (with cream on the side if wanted)
