Walnuts are so crunchy, cheap and so easy to make! They are healthy and a great add-on to many meals and stereotypically used with pastries as well. This snack is so easy to make and healthy in moderation. We love crunchy foods and they are so much better than your sodium filled chips that you many people eat for the crispness. Sweetness is so amazing and this recipe allows you to have minimal work, and also a good amount of sugar on your walnuts. The flavours match so well together and not only that; it does not overwhelm with stickiness it as most recipes do.
Walnuts are healthy and have so many benefits especially if you eat it in the morning! Walnuts according to Traditional Chinese Medicine nourish your qi and kidneys which normally only retain energy in your "pre-natal" state. Even in Western beliefs, walnuts can be considered a superfood as well. It can be great for your weight-loss with aided digestion, reduced risk of cancer, better blood pressure, and even reduced risk of diabetes 2. It is also rich in Omega-3, anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatories and vitamins as well! Without further ado here is our simple recipe for a snack!
Ingredients
-1 or 2 Cup of walnuts
-1/4 cup of sugar per cup of walnuts
-teaspoon of butter per cup of walnuts
Recipe
1. Melt sugar and butter in a pot/ pan
2. Throw walnuts in as well and cook slowly for 5 minutes why stirring constantly (so they don't stick)
3. Once done take them out and spread them out on a parchment paper as they will stick together otherwise
4. Once dried (it could take up to 7ish minutes) then you are good to enjoy!
