The ever so classic fried rice has been adapted in so many cultures and so many different ways but using more classic methods we are going to show you our classic fried rice. Fried rice can be as simple such as only having a great flavour behind it but just rice. Our fried rice is based with tobiko or flying fish roe as the main accompaniment. A key to every fried rice is to minimize the moisture in the rice prior with a main method being cooking your rice the night before. Not only that, but many top restaurants in Asia only cook the rice one small bowl at a time in order to ensure each rice is separated. Another huge part of making a great fried rice is having a burner with a heavy flame in order to make the rice fragrant and dry as intended.
When rice is used as part of your balanced food supply it can give many health benefits. At its' very base it can provide energy to you while supporting your bones as well. Furthermore, your nerves and muscles are strengthened due to the magnesium provided in rice. It can also improve your colon health and lower risk of heart disease. It is also a great supply of vitamins and minerals such as B vitamins, magnesium and iron! We love this recipe as it keeps it light and not only that but also the tobiko adds another texture and a certain saltiness to it!
Ingredients
White or Brown Rice
1 stalk of Green onion
1 tablespoon Yellow Tobiko (Flying fish roe)
1 table spoon Orange Tobiko (Flying fish roe)
2 Eggs
Oil

Recipe
Cook your rice the night before in whatever method you use. (we prefer to use slightly less water)
Whisk your eggs and cut your green onion
Using a wok or a pan, put a minimal amount of oil then fry your eggs
Once they are nearly done put in your rice and separate your rice as you stir. (use a motion as if you were cutting while stirring)
Just as you are finishing your rice put in your orange Tobiko and green onion. Season with salt and pepper.
Serve by garnishing with a spoonful of yellow tobiko and sprinkling on some additional green onion!
